Local by default
Momentas does not require a Momentas account. Your app data stays local unless you enable Google Drive backup.
Clear endings
Deleting a milestone, turning off backup, restoring from Drive, and removing a widget do not all mean the same thing. The answers below explain the difference.

Rituals help a memory return at the right time. Optional Google Drive backup helps protect personal cards and related media when the user chooses to enable it.
Quick start
How to use the main parts of Momentas.
If you are new, start here. These are the actions people use most often.
On the Home screen, tap the Camera icon for a quick capture or the + button for the full editor. Add your title, date and time, unit, and any extras you want such as a photo, voice note, notes, location, Spotify track, notifications, ritual, or repeat settings. Tap the checkmark at the top to save.
Open the moment and tap Edit to change it. To delete it, open the moment menu and tap Delete. From the Home screen, you can also long-press a card or open its menu for quick actions like favorite, widget, or delete.
No. Momentas is designed to work locally without a Momentas account. Google sign-in is only used when you choose Google Drive backup or restore.
Add a Momentas widget from your phone's widget picker. When setting it up, choose the moment you want. To change it later, open a moment and tap Use in Widget, then choose which existing widget should show it.
Daily Summary is a notification sent at your chosen time with the personal moments you selected. You can include up to 5 moments.
A ritual is a repeated reminder connected to a specific moment. Use it when a memory should come back gently over time, such as a habit, anniversary, weekly check-in, or meaningful routine. Open the moment, add or adjust the ritual details, then save.
Open Settings and use Google Drive Backup if you want a recovery copy. Backup is optional and user-controlled. Restore is used when you need to bring back supported personal cards and related details from the backup connected to your Google account.

Google Drive backup is optional. Turning it off stops future backups, but it does not delete the local memories already on your device.

What happens if...?
This is the part most people look for. These answers explain the main endings, changes, and edge cases in plain language.
Personal moments
It is removed from your personal list. If a widget was using it, the widget will stop showing that moment.
Momentas does not require a Momentas account. If you disconnect Google Drive backup, your local personal moments remain on the device unless you explicitly remove them.
Local Momentas data on that device can be removed. If you previously enabled Google Drive backup, you may be able to restore from the backup connected to your Google account.
Local data and backup
Momentas can create a recovery copy of supported memories and related media in your own Google Drive. Backup can also run automatically when enabled.
Future automatic backups stop. Your local memories stay on the device unless you delete them or clear app data.
Restore uses the backup available in Google Drive. Review the restore status carefully before changing devices or clearing local data.
Yes. Backup is optional. Momentas can be used locally without connecting Google Drive.
Widgets and premium
The widget is removed from the home screen, but the selected memory remains in Momentas.
The widget can no longer show that memory and may ask for a new selection.
No. Premium is a one-time Google Play purchase.
Use Restore Purchases with the same Google Play account that owns the one-time purchase.
Rituals, backup, and restore
The moment is removed from your list. Its ritual is no longer useful because the ritual belongs to that moment.
No. Backup is optional. Personal moments can stay on the device, and backup is there for users who want a practical recovery option.
Need a Momentas account?
No. Momentas works locally. Google sign-in is only needed for optional Google Drive backup and restore.
No internet?
Local memories still work. Google Drive backup, restore, and purchase restore need a connection.
Widget looks empty?
Open Momentas, choose a personal memory for the widget, and wait for the widget to refresh.
