1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to the Momentas app, the related website, and privacy-related support or account requests connected to Momentas.
Momentas is built for personal memories and private sharing. This page explains what information the product may use, why it may use it, and how that relates to features like shared memories, widgets, notifications, photos, places, and music links.
This policy applies to the Momentas app, the related website, and privacy-related support or account requests connected to Momentas.
Momentas helps users keep memories, dates, reminders, and visual presence in one place, and lets users share a memory privately through an invite-based flow where supported.
That can include account details, memory content, invite and shared-memory state, app settings, support messages, and technical information needed to keep the product working securely and reliably.
When a user taps Share on a memory, Momentas does not immediately create a shared memory. It first creates a pending invite and a shareable invite link. The full shared memory is created only if the recipient accepts the invite.
The invite link itself is lightweight and contains only an invite token. Before acceptance, the preview is limited to the small set of information used by the preview screen, such as the title, preview photo, fallback visual styling, and creator display name if present.
Momentas may request access to device features only when needed for user-facing functionality, such as photos or media access when a user adds an image, notifications when a user enables reminders or daily summaries, and location access when a user chooses to attach place-related context to a memory.
If a permission is not granted, some features may not work, but other parts of the app may continue to function.
Momentas may show short in-app disclosures at the moment a feature is first used, especially where personal or sensitive data is involved in a way that may not be obvious from context alone.
For example, the sharing flow may include a disclosure explaining that, before acceptance, the recipient can see limited invite preview information, and that the full shared memory is created only after the invite is accepted.
Momentas does not treat shared memories as public posts. Shared content is intended to be visible only according to the app's sharing flow and permissions.
If a user chooses to enable Google Drive Backup, Momentas can store a backup of personal memory cards in that user's own Google Drive. This can include card details, reminders, rituals, and related media such as photos or voice notes.
Google Drive Backup is optional, can be turned off in the app at any time, and is used for backup rather than syncing memories across devices.
Momentas keeps information for as long as reasonably needed to operate the app, support account and shared-memory functions, preserve settings, maintain security, respond to support issues, investigate misuse, and meet legal obligations.
We collect anonymous technical and usage data to help improve the app experience. This may include information such as error reports, session duration, and feature interactions. It does not include your name, email address, or any other direct personal identifiers. We use this data solely to understand how the app is used, improve performance, and fix issues. This data is stored securely, is not sold to third parties, and is currently set to be retained for up to 30 days.
The public Momentas website may also use optional Google Analytics, but only after a visitor gives consent through the website banner. This helps measure page visits, broad device and browser information, and which public pages are most useful. It is not used to read the private content of memories stored in the app. Retention of that website analytics data depends on the Google Analytics settings configured for the site.
Where account deletion is supported, users may be able to delete their account through the app or through the account deletion route provided by Momentas.
Deletion may result in removal, detachment, anonymization, or retention of certain data depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it must be kept, including security, legal, abuse-prevention, or technical reasons.
Momentas uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by the app. These may include authentication controls, access restrictions, secure transmission, and other safeguards appropriate to the app's functions.
No system can be guaranteed completely secure, but Momentas works to reduce risk and limit unnecessary exposure.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If material changes are made, the effective date will be updated and, where appropriate, additional notice may be provided in the app or on the website.
